Description:
Pullulanase is a specific kind of
glucanase, an amylolytic
exoenzyme, that de-grades
pullulan. It is produced as an
extracellular, cell
surfaceanchored lipop-rotein by
Gramnegative bacteria of the
genusKlebsiella. Type I pullula-
nases specifically attack a-1,6
linkages, while type II
pullulanases are also able to
hydrolyse a-1,4 linkages. It is
also produced by some other
bacteria and ar-chaea. Pullanase
is used as a detergent in
biotechnology.
Application:
(1)Pullulanase is use in
Production of sweeteners and
Ethanol from starch.
(2)Pullulanase is use in
Production of glucose and maltose
Syrup.
