Methylthiouracil English Name: Methylthiouracil traits: thiourea antithyroid drug inhibition of the thyroid hormone synthesis. Its mechanism of action is through inhibition of thyroid peroxidase, prevent the intake to the thyroid iodide oxidation and tyrosine coupling, thereby impeding thyroxine ( T4 three ) and triiodothyronine ( T3 ) synthesis.
