Reactivity Profile Methotrexate decomposes in very acidic or alkaline conditions. Methotrexate is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents and strong acids. Inhibits thymidylate synthetase and de novo purine synthesis. Potent folic acid antagonist; inhibits dihydrofolate reductase.
