³»¿ë: Glycidyl phenyl ether Synonyms: (2,3-epoxypropoxy)-benzen;(2,3-epoxypropoxy)benzene;(phenoxymethyl)-oxiran;(Phenoxymethyl)oxirane;(phenoxymethyl)-Oxirane;1,2-epoxy-3-phenoxy-propan;1-Phenoxy-2,3-epoxypropane;2,3-Epoxy-1-phenoxypropane CAS: 122-60-1 MF: C9H10O2 MW: 150.17 EINECS: 204-557-2 Chemical Properties colourless liquid General Description Colorless liquid. Air & Water Reactions Ethers tend to form unstable peroxides when exposed to oxygen. Ethyl, isobutyl, ethyl tert-butyl, and ethyl tert-pentyl ether are particularly hazardous in this respect. Ether peroxides can sometimes be observed as clear crystals deposited on containers or along the surface of the liquid. Slightly soluble in water. Reactivity Profile Glycidyl phenyl ether, an ether, can act as a base. They form salts with strong acids and addition complexes with Lewis acids. The complex between diethyl ether and boron trifluoride is an example. Ethers may react violently with strong oxidizing agents. In other reactions, which typically involve the breaking of the carbon-oxygen bond, ethers are relatively inert. Fire Hazard Glycidyl phenyl ether is probably combustible.
